We the students of the University of Massachusetts Undergraduate Student Government are committed to representing our student body, their interests, questions and concerns. The Student Senate, through the democratic process, advocates for civil and educational rights of the UMass student body. The committees of the undergraduate student Senate act to recommend changes which improve the campus experience, administer and oversee the application of student resources, promote leadership opportunities and professionalism and promote student involvement in the UMass community. It is the goal of the student government to promote and enhance the overall educational cultural and community experience of the student body.
The Senate is governed by it's Constitution and Bylaws divided into committees, that do the primary work of the Senate. All committee meetings are open to all members of the University Community and are a great place to bring concerns for the Senate to address, or get involved in issues that interest you.
The Students Events & Organizations Committee is responsible for the oversight of student based events and organizations. They oversee club activation and hiring of Center Coordinators. The committee determines policy as well as funds a variety of student organizations from the Student Activities Trust Fund. Contact the Chair of this committee.

The Campus & Community Affairs Committee is responsible for public relations, internal communications of the Senate and academic and community affairs of the student body. The committee is also responsible for the recommendation and appointment of students to University wide committees. Contact the Chair of this committee.
The Executive Steering Committee is comprised of the Executive Officers of the Student Senate. Here the agendas for the full Senate meetings are set as well as overseeing its standing committees.
