Outreach to students has lead me to believe that trying to have Health Administration drop the requirement that students with State insurance have to pay $1400 for health insurance is an issue to try and get reversed. Also, holding the line on student fees and parking as well as trying to protect the student trust fund are all important issues for the Senate to be involved with. Also, since my college is CPCS I would like to see CPCS reopen admissions with more choices for students.
Why did you choose to attend UMass Boston?
UMASS Boston is a diverse place and being a public university when I started it seemed a more affordable choice and it had a legal ed and community planning programs at CPCS which serviced nontraditional students like myself that interested me.
List something that you find most interesting or surprising about UMass Boston?
The professors are approachable for students and there are so many different clubs and centers.
What do you hope to gain from your experience in the Undergraduate Student Senate?
A leadership experience where I can make a difference for my fellow students here now and those that will take my place in the future which is why I spent time on the Constitution revision and By-law committees.
